Hovercraft skirts made from neoprene coated nylon, or Hypalon, can tear easily and neoprene coated nylon can suffer from UV sunlight degradation. Some hovercraft manufacturers make a nice income from skirt replacements, so ensure that the hovercraft has segmented skirts to restrict damage to just one section. Check for anti-plough properties. Polyethylene coated nylon skirts last the longest.
